Indian Su-30

Hello all, I'm intending to build an Indian Air Force Su-30, the one with the paint job of the national tricolour and the Dharma Chakra (Wheel of Law) in the back. I understand that it is a double seater MK model. Am i correct?



I want to know what are the differences between the MK and MKI models? Do they both have Thrust-Vectoring (TVC) engine nozzles? Or only the MKI model?



Another Q. - What changes will i need to do to the Academy's Su-27UB? Is there another kit which i'll need to make less changes? Will i need the Sol's Su-30 conversion kit?



Finally - Is there in the market decals that represent this model? If not, do anyone have a 3 view scheme with FS colors?

Spectacular paintjob, well worth the effort I should say.

Probably correct, but making sense of the various designations is only slightly less difficult than quantum physics.

As near as I can tell, the differences are in electronics and the TVC nozzles. I don't think the tricolour bird had TVC.

There are no decals that I'm aware of, either in 72 or 48 scale. The Linden Hill "flankers on patrol" decal set has a basic Indian plane that could serve as a basis, but the wheel, tailnumber and perhaps roundels (looks like they used red instead of orange on this plane) would have to come from somewhere else. If you've got a knack with Corel Draw and time to spare, I could try to ALPS you a set (and you'd be saving me the trouble of drawing the lot for my own 72 scale build of the same subject). The book on my desk here has a side view only, but it appears the be pretty much a case of three side to side bands straight accross the entire plane. Would Indian painters use FS numbers?
