Is this the Vietnam era SAM?

The VC were South Vietnamese communists and, AFAIK, never crewed SAM sites. The sites were mainly used to defend large North Vietnamese cities and "Strategic targets" (bridges, rail junctions, power plants and such) and were crewed by the NVA with (it is said) the assistance of Soviet and/or Chinese advisors.

There's no (it is said) about it. Russians are now publishing unit histories of those regiments that fought in the DRV and some of their claims. One site lists top "Soviet jet aces" and one from Vietnam with 6 kills turns out to have been an SA-2 battalion commander, not a pilot.
