Iwata Eclipse BCS

I received an Iwata Eclipse BCS as a Christmas gift, and of course I'm thrilled. For the past five years I've been using a Paasche VL which has served very very well, but I've heard so much about the Iwata and have really wanted to get one.

Mqy question is that this is a bottom feed airbrush, which is fine, except that the Iwata bottle is huge and would be difficult to use for the very fine detailing I use (the gravity feed would have worked better, but I am happy with this gift)...does it hurt anything to simply use the side jars from my Paasche and (long ago) Badger 150? They fit fine, and I'm used to painting with the side metal jars. I just want to be careful not to damage such a delicate airbrush.

Probably a foolish question, but I certainly appreciate anyone's experience. At least for my own comfort level.

Why would it hurt ?

Those are all friction fit and the industry standard. You're not going to screw anything up and the airbrush police won't come for an inspection. hth

i've done some cross switching and it's fine. as long as the paint sprays and doesn't leak or spit, whats not to use? happy ho ho's!

The way things are going these days, you can't be too sure of that! :-)

Years ago I went from a Paasche H to an Iwata Eclipse BCS. As I was very comfortable with using the side metal cups from my old Paasche, I just kept using them with the Iwata. I have never had a problem with using the small metal cups and would have a hard time going to the larger glass bottles if I had to! So use the metal cups just like your old Paasche.

Enjoy the Iwata Eclipse, it's great! Mike
