Oil for compressor??

Sep 03, 2006 4 Replies

Hi, I've just purchased a Hansa compressor and airbrush. On the side of the compressor there is an open-topped tube sticking upright with the word 'oil' on the label beside it... can anyone please inform me as to what sort of oil goes in here and why please?

TIA, Ian

Very , very light oil , like sewing machine oil . It Is a Machine , it requires oil to lubricate moving parts . Most machines Warranties are Void if it is not oiled before first use.

"3-in-1 Oil" works very well.

Thanks guys- how often roughly would I need to chuck some oil in please?

Go to your local compressor supplier (look in Yellow Pages). Tell him what you have, buy what he recommends. I bought a 2 pint bottle to top-up, still more than half full after three years! If you need to fill the sump from scratch, you can't afford 3 in 1! N
