OT: Engrish, anyone?

that's sad and worrisome. stay on the drs ass. you really have to monitor everything they do. if you don't pay attention, they can kill you. ain't no joke, happened to a friend and almost to me. that goes triple in a hospital. that's where they really f*ck up. that chefausky, (sp) screenplay was only half tongue in cheek.

in higher doses, the effects can go from a mild warmth and sense of well being to depression of the breathing to the point of death. drugs addicts go for the "rush" when they inject drugs into their veins. generally, that's an intense wave of pleasure that can include a flood of warmth, a lightness of being and a really incredible wash of sheer pleasure. it's as truly indescribale as orgasms. and it's different for everyone. honest, i asked. that's the sneaky, addictive part. though the rush is shortlived, sometimes a whole minute can occur. that's the reason it's called chasing the dragon. the dragon is that rush and feeling of well being that goes on after. i did drug counseling long ago and often heard what the dragon was from various people. i was a beer drinker. but i got allergic.

...we had a guy here few years ago that went into our local (same one I was in for a few weeks in '06) for some surgery...came through that fine, but they left a sponge in him. Went back in to remove it and he never came out of the anesthesia on the second round...killed him dead.

I had my gall bladder out last year. The gallstone attack was the worst pain I never imagined. But after the surgery, it took me two days to get back to normal levels of consciousness, but other then discomfort if I bent over (and constipation for a week) I never had any probs. But no buzz or dependency on the meds either.

in killers never give me a buzz. I don't

I get in enough trouble overspending on my addiction to models. I guess I'm lucky that drugs just don't do anything for me.

i hope the family can get through that. the dr and hsopital are shaking in thier boots, i bet.

Ineffective anesthesia is one of the scariest medical scenarios I can think of...like I tell the docs when they put me out - "you can do anything you want once I'm asleep, but you BETTER not let me wake up and catch you doing it".

I know another gal that went in for a gallbladder surgery (they do a LOT of those here...says something about our water, I think) and the surgeon knicked her liver up pretty bad (heard another surgeon had to step in) and damn near killed her - she's since suffered multiple organ failures...she's up and out now, but a shell of her former self. And it's 2-3 years later on that one, too. Same surgeon hacked up another friend's sinuses last year too...I'm really not sure why she's still practicing, honestly.

Our hospital is on very shaky ground - the medical clinic is all but shut, and most of the resident docs have left and set up private offices in town. Only two docs from the clinic left in residence at the hospital itself...and I don't think even one of them is a surgeon. The nursing staff is great though...they put me back together.

And still - they're expanding; building a new two-story wing, and we've got a brand new outpatient center; because of base realignment and the supposed 5000 families that are supposed to be coming our way in a few years...yeah, right. People are gonna move from the OC and Ventura to HERE...fat chance. Anyway, mo' beds, less docs...so whadda we got really?

don't ignore the growth. it may not be that many but it will come. people are getting fed up with down the mountain. even this town is growing. before the recession, housing costs were way up. and we're still growing. i'm not going to your hospital, not even the e room.

except for in extreme pain.

well yeah, I just meant I don't get a buzz or anything that makes me want them when I don't need 'em. Now I just need to find something that really gets rid of the migraines.

Right now all of our "growth" is due to the state and county emptying it's prisons on us...we got a section 8 building boom going on that's totally ignoring the rest of the downturn in the housing market.

...found out the hard way once that opiates do absolutely ZIP for a migraine. Excedrin actually works well for me, though I have to use the ones sans-aspirin.

And though it can be rough on your stomach, a slug of coffee to add more caffeine to open you capillaries also helps - that's why Excedrin is so bitter - it's loaded with caffeine. Got that tip from a gal I used to date that does data reduction for drug clinical trials, and I've had docs tell me that yes it works, but can be hard on your gut so not to do it too often.

Excedrin is my favorite. My doc pushes advil which does nothing at all for me. But I think I really need a new doc anyway...I can't stand coffee, never could, but I do drink a coke. It's got caffeine plus always settles my stomach. Don't we sound like a bunch of old farts with all this med talk lol

well, it's better than no building.

ask your dr about depakote. it's expensive if you don't have a plan or insurance. it works on migranes.

makes one a bit jangly, though.

Heh...

I can't tolerate carbonation any longer...coffee, or hot chocolate (with Kaluha...mmnnn...) settles me pretty well. I tried drinking decaf for a bit after getting out of the hospital in '06, but my body just plain rejected it - actually caused me some pain to drink decaf.

I have to avoid aspirin, and things like Advil; stuff I take has to be aspirin free...Advil is still an NSAID, and I can't have any of those - Tylenol, opiates, and steroids are all I'm allowed...and steroids are HARSH...prednisone - only drug I've ever begged to be taken off of.

Dunno...you should have been here for the town's knee-jerk reaction to a few three-patchers showing up a couple weeks ago...sheesh...we had the FBI and all the local fuzz crawling up people's butts...

...which reminds me...time to ride out and see if I can get on a pool table...
