Paint Color Bleeding Through Decals ???

yep. me too. have not built my blue angels kits because of the yellow decals over dark blue.

If it's something easily masked (say, a square or rectangle of white,) paint it white and mask it off so you have a white underside. Otherwise, as someone else said, layer the decals.

1. It's a PITA, but mask and paint white or light gray under the area where the decals will be.
2. Mask and paint appropriate color over the decals once they're applied (another PITA)
3. Aftermarket decals. In the case of the Blue Angels, the original kit decals are somewhat translucent, and I know there are aftermarket sets available that are completely opaque (Superscale I think?)

Let paint dry, spray Future wax on area to be decaled, let dry/cure, the paint won't bleed through the wax. apply decals and let them cure, clean any residue and finally seal the model with flat or gloss (again Future) depending on the finish you want.

How does a clear coat of Future stop a dark color from bleeding thru a light colored decal?

If the color was actually leaching through it probably would. If it's a case of translucent decals it won't.
