[Q] After future-ing

An ammonia based cleaner should do the job. That's what Johnson's recommend to remove the floor wax.

Isn't Future basically just clear acrylic?Would the ammonia work after it had cured?Or would he have to use one of the various paint removers? If I wanted to do a repaint I'd probably take off the paint under the future anyhow.

Windex works great, and it's cheap. Other chemicals that would work are isopropyl alcohol, denatured alcohol (will remove even dried Acyl under the Future...) , and just about any polishing compond that contains petroleum distilates. Frank

ammonia will take it right off, generally without affecting the paint underneath.

I have used Windex (ammonia-based glass cleaner) to remove a botched application of Future-- it was easy!

Unless you have thick globs of Future that you want to remove, you can always cancel the effect of the Future simply by applying a flat coat over it, rather than taking the chance of wrecking the paint job by trying to strip it. I used to feel cheap 'cause I had no signature.
