FWIW As an experiment, Fokker covered one of his E-III monoplane fighters with that clear covering, Cellon I believe was the trade name. It didn't work because the stuff could not stand up to changes in the weather I believe.

Not new, rather old. Look up "The German Giants" on eBay, it shows up fairly often and isn't too expensive.
