We tried to come up with a stand for this model, but unless you drill a hole into it that doesn't belong, there is just no way to mount it. Then there is the consideration that because its over two feet long, displaying it any other way that standing straight up would be doubtful. And then you get into the top-heavy issue, as you pointed out-- displaying it on an angle would be problematic. I should say that because the astronaut figure is done in solid PVC (basically a solid rubber figure), that the weight is shifted downward quite a bit. This helps keep it solid when it is standing on the retropack, which it does very nicely. The decision was made to not include a stand just because of the problems it could cause and standing it on its butt just makes sense.

seems to me, the logical stand (besides some kind of cart, so you'd have to display the escape tower seperate) would be the Atlas adapter ring.....

Mounted on a wood base, and the capsule would be left removable, naturally.

but what do I know? :)
