I believe one of the benifits of the future is it protects the clear part from being damaged by the fumes from the super glue.
Dipping clear parts in Future makes them crystal clear (as long as the plastic underneath is). I always dip canopies and windscreens in Future. If you mess it up (like a dust bit gets in there) you strip with windex or anything ammonia based, and re-dip it. Works like a charm.
I don't use Future for anything but clear bits. (instrument panels for example)
