I wanted to do some float rigging on my 1/72 Sikorsky S-43, and intended to use a spool of pretty old monofilament for it (probably ten years, since it was my dad's and he hadn't been fishing in quite a while). The line had a curve from the spool (2" diameter), and it wouldn't stretch out straight long enough for the superglue to anchor at the second attachment point.
Ideally, I'd like to 'relax' the stuff so it's close to straight; then, the tension ought not pop it out of the receiving hole, and a shot with a hair dryer can tighten it up later (I hope?) Anybody have any experience with monofilament? The diameter of the line is somewhere between .007 and .003 (not marked on the package).
