The Virginia is a new design for a new mission. It is about as different from the Seawolf as the Seawolf was from the Los Angeles. For starters, the Seawolf hull diameter is 40 ft. and the Virginia is 34 ft.

Don't bother buying more than four kits. You could make the Seawolf from the first, "convert" the second to the Connecticut by using a different hull number decal, and use the last two to make the Jimmy Carter with its 100 ft longer hull. That's it.

He's not kidding about the gap fore and aft. My solution will probably involve sheet plastic. The funny thing is that the hull lines up fine--it's just 1/16" short at either end.

They do line up fine if you leave the locating pins alone. The distortion in the photo is the wide angle lens trying to capture the length of the beast in the limited area of my photo booth.

Me too. I had the same problem. I got it where it is fully held while cementing. I use the Ambroid cement and it did fine. Also, I got some thick styrene that I will be shimming the gap. I use some mics to determine the thinkness. So I might just "Divied and Conquer" this kit...
