DEFAULT CONFIGURATIONS PROPERTIES

May 09, 2006 2 Replies

Whenever I make a new configuration, "Advanced options: Suppress new features and mates" checkbox is checked by default

I find this option is almost never useful and I almost always have to uncheck it. This is inconvenient, so I would like it be UNchecked by default

I have tried UNchecking it in the template Assembly.asmdot and confirmed that it is indeed saved with the checkbox unchecked.

However any new assembly still defaults with the box checked.

Any ideas Malcolm

Take a blank assembly and make the setting change(s) you need to and then... Click File-SaveAs-'Assembly Templates' save this file in the program files-Solidworks-data-templates under a unique filename and close

Next time you make an assembly the file should show up in the default templates dialog and you can select it with the changes keyed in.

Also, FYI when you create a new config, SW will set these options based on the settings of the currently active configuration.
