HELP! - urgently need to plot part of a model

Is it possible to produce a scale plot of part of a model? I've got a big assembly (i.e. big dimensions) which I need to produce scaled plots of various sections of it, from various different viewing directions, as I need to be able to take them on site and compare measurements with the real-world assembly.

The problem is, that there doesn't seem to be a "plot current screen to a scale" option for models. It just seems to take the envelope for the whole model and place its centre at the centre of the paper.

Is there a way around this, short of creating endless drawing views? Is there a 3rd party program that fulfils this pretty basic need?

TIA, John H

In file | print, choose 'selection' then you will see a gray rectangle appear on screen, move the rectangle over the area you want to plot and control the scale in the little dialoque that will appear. Or, saveas dwg, select option 'scale 1:1' open in dwgeditor and plot from there.

That method only seems to work for drawings, not for parts or assys - at least, it's greyed out on my machine.

I think someone had a work-round for this where you draw a sketch around the ara you want to print and then print 1:1 with the sketch open? Not sure, but it was a recent post so you'll probably find it without too much trouble.
