My boss, locally known as the combined embodiment of Fagan, Scrooge and Shylock, has finally aquiesced to a limited upgrade of my PC which currently does about 150 seconds in the ship in a bottle test. In a recent design review he complained that it took too long to make a cross section, and I jumped on his ass and demanded a faster box. So he's given me $700 to do the job. Someday we may even upgrade from 2004 0.0
--- Naaah.
So I thought the following would be sufficient:
Mobo - MSI K8T NEO FSR $69 for socket 754 Processor - AMD Athlon 3200+ $179 Memory - 1G Mushkin DDR $219 Graphics - PNY NVidia Quadro FX500 $203.50 Power Supply - Antec ATX 12V $38
Prices are from newegg.com.
This is based on a PC I built for home last summer which works very well with Solid it hurts so bad Works.
Does anyone have any suggestions for improvements within the $700 limit? The tin box and peripherals will stay the same.
