Can solidworks models be used to create NC codes for the shop to use. I am wanting to do it without having to make DXF's. Any information would be appreciated.

Some CAM software will take SolidWorks solid models as input. (As I recall MasterCAM is one, provided you have the right version/module.) I think most will require you to output Parasolid, STEP, or IGES files. You should probably ask this question on alt.machines.cnc
