Yes, there is (if your newsreader has the right options). Delete messages posted to more than 1 newsgroup. You may lose some good crossposted messages, but the junk will be gone. If your newsreader is really sophisticated, you could delete messages crossposted to a specific newsgroup.

A news reader that can kill file posts x-posted to specific groups is "sophisticated"? Huh? On what planet? You mean there are actually news readers available that do not have this very basic feature?

Thunderbird and Mozilla do not have any capability whatsoever to kill crossposts. I don't think OE can either. You can't even to RegEx filtering with Mozilla and TBird.

Netscape (built upon Mozilla, of course) has no such capability either. Don't know why BD seems to think it's all that common.

OE is not a newsreader. It's a pathetic excuse for one. Thunderbird is only slightly better. Piss-poor tools give piss-poor results!

Probably because I never considered using a web browser or email client as a news reader.

Here in news.software.readers, Black Dragon spake unto us, saying:

Some newsreaders also make excellent mail readers, however. :-)

Or how to filter out messages meant for news.software.readers and not alt.machines.cnc,comp.cad.solidworks.

Please be careful where you cross post to.

Thanks dude.
