Standard colours that we use as finishes on our parts are identified from our suppliers catalogue eg; Deep Brunswick Green, or Flame Red. Is there a way of naming colours, and having this value linked to the file properties, the same as say materials?

I suppose that you could do this with materials in a part. Ditto for PhotoWorks materials. If that is not exactly what you want you could use the API and link to a flat file database with names and RGB settings. It has been a while since I looked at the precedence of color settings in SW. Since you can set color on so many features the precedence has to be understood before you try this.
