Well, nice picture. But I guess there is more sense to it that I don't get. There must be something more to explain for us not living in the US. ... ?
TIA

Jean Marc,
It's called "humor"
Is it illegal in France ??? Or just an alien concept.

I think it would be difficult to see the humor if one did not know the cultural references-which in this case are understsandable.
My wife and I spent a lovely week in Paris in May. We found people there to be wonderful and -for the most part- patient with my poor knowledge of their language. I found them to have a very good sense of humor as well.

That's an answer that denotes a total lack of sense or humor. I was just asking for some guidelines to understand the meaning, and I got it. As for humor, I wish you could see for yourself. But I'm afraid you're not open minded enough.
Thanks for the positive answers. With love and compassion from France (sincerely).

There's your answer. :) It must be a uniquely middle-class America ability to laugh at oneself. It goes back to Twain, I think.

Jean Marc,
It was meant tounge-in-cheek. Kind of an example of middle America sarcstic humor.
Certainly does read negative though. Sorry bout that.
The written word doesn't convey body language or inflection very well

Mark
