SW2007 Bill Of Material Issue

Feb 15, 2007 5 Replies

I'm creating some drawings of my assemblies and I'm flummoxed. The assemblies I'm detailing have more than one configuration and SWx insists on inserting the configuration name before QTY in the quantity column. Can this behavior be disabled? If so, how?

Thanks a lot,

I think the following will work...... It has been a while since we encountered this issue.

On your BOM rename the QTY column and remove the period that is in the callout.

It probably reads Configuration Name/QTY. change to QTY

Then save of the BOM as a new template so you don't have to keep updating the column.

Ken, Using 2006 open up you r template and go to tools/options and choose the Document properties tab. To right choose 'Tables'. Bottom right you will see a few check boxes to do with BOMs one is "Don't copy QTY name from template". Does this do what you want.

Thank you so much. How in the world did you figure this out?

I'm using 2007 so I don't think this applies. Thanks anyway. =========================================================================== Chris

Chris,

How did I figure that one out? I didn't, that was discovered by someone in one of the forums I frequent a few releases back when the SolidWorks BOM's came out.

Stumped me for a while until I read the tip..... :-)

I don't notice it anymore, because we use a common BOM template that we have saved in our standards directory and we have the QTY column set to not add the configuration name.
