BOM Column heading changes with configuration?

Feb 11, 2004 2 Replies

I had not seen this behavior before, and wonder if there is a setting to turn it off. If I have a simple BOM with a column for "QTY." What I just noticed is that the column name changes depending on the configuration of the assembly (have not noticed with parts). So now I might have an assembly with 2 configs and the column changes to "config-name/QTY.". The column heading in the property manager is the original, and the only setting I see that I can change is the configuration used - and that change the entire BOM (obviously).

I see the value of this, but I just do not want to show the config name as it confuses the client (in this case).

So, is there a way to force this not to update the column header? BTW, this is SW2004 sp2.1 and SW BOM, not excel.

Thanks Dan

Daniel: This is a known limitation to the new Table BOM.

My VAR and I have put in enhancement requests, I suggest that you do also.

The only solution is to go back to Excel Based BOMs

HA HA HA HA HA HAHAHAHAHA! :-)) no way!!!!

Seriously Steve, thank you, and I will let my VAR know. There are some other bad behaviors in the SW BOM that I will also comment to them about.

Thanks for the info!

Dan
