weldment cut list question

When I make my own lib feature file for using in weldments, everything works fine in the weldment model, but I'm having trouble getting the custom property "Description" to appear in the cutlist table. In looking at the swx supplied lib feature files, this info seems to be in the ordinary custom property "Description", and my user made file seems identical in this respect, and length, qty show up fine in the table. Is there some trick I am missing to make this property text show up in the cutlist? thanks, bill

the description property is driven by the cut-list. this property is not your basic text. it's typically in the format of; TUBE, RECTANGULAR "V_leg@Sketch1@3 x 2 x 0.25.SLDPRT" X "H_leg@Sketch1@3 x 2 x 0.25.SLDPRT" X "Thickness@Sketch1@3 x 2 x 0.25.SLDPRT"

if you're making additional profiles, start with one of the ones provided in weldment profiles folder. open, save as, start your edits. no issues, plus it's fast.

I figured out this part of it... I was editing the lib feat file and expecting the feature to update in the weldment without recreating the structural member. Thinking of it like an assembly.

Found another issue, though. Used the gusset tool, and nothing but quantity shows up in the cutlist table. Any way to show material size?

just realized that custom properties can be edited only under the cutlist folder in the FM. This does the trick. bill

Sorry i didn't use all caps with reference to;

"the description property is driven by the cut-list".

Once weldment feature has been introduced into a part, the "merge result" option is always unchecked (it's now assumed you want a multi-body feature). So don't limit yourself to the gusset tool. You can extrude your own gussets, mounting plates, etc ... A profile is not necessarily needed.

I guess I was getting crossed up on the cutlist FM folder versus the cutlist table. It seems simple after gettting through it, but at first the lingo kind of fuzzes up.
