I know I'm going to regret this, but what's GOP?

Grand Ol' Party? Republican only model railroaders?!? Dang, the last time I heard a debate in that regard that was on an episode of Family Ties 2 decades ago, when Alex Keaton and Michael Keaton were arguing whether a N scale model hotel/saloon had Young Republicans or Drunken Cowboys in the windows...

Greater Oregon & Pacific?

Georgia, Ontario & Pasadena?

I think you mean Steven Keaton. :)

Of interest, Steven Keaton's N scale layout was Michael Gross' own.

Well many would assume he is thinking of politics- however consider the source. Curt has formed a group for his own interests- "Gay Only Pastors"

He remains in our prayers.

Greedy Oligopolists Party - dedicated to using fear of Arabs, gays, creeping socialism, fluoridation, and universal healthcare to keep the yahoos boggled and obedient.

Vote Libertarian!

Nah, libertarians will let the richest guy in the club buy everyone else out in a hostile takeover, grab all their prized brass locos, scratchbuilt structures, everything.

However, I will give them credit for allowing us to smoke pot in the back room. "But, Dispatcher, it's a victimless crime! Sorry I smashed up your consist there."

Nah. The only successfully monopolies are those instituted by the government. All others fail because the costs of gaining a monopoly have to be recouped eventually. Prices go up, and new players can then undercut the monopoly. Unless the government backs it up, monopolies always fail. Even very large market share holders eventually fail for the same reason. Think Sears --> K-Mart --> Target. Each was considered the unbeatable giant in their time. Then came Walmart. Walmart too will either continually adapt or be beaten.

No problem there either. Under a libertarian system, private companies have the right to test their employees for drugs, even legal drugs.

Then again, you have to be high to really enjoy some of the Lionel accessories. I wonder what my Lionel Nuclear Reactor would look like if I dropped some acid and put on In A Gadda Da Vida.

Pot is probably better though. Drunk people will get into fist fights over gauges and scales. Stoners can't remember them, but are sure some of those boxcars are carrying cops.

There's a difference between Young Repubilcans and Drunken Cowboys?

Oh, well, maybe power ties vs. bolo ties. Yes, that's it!

You're forgetting that in Tex-ass and Arid-zone-a, bolo ties *are* power ties.

I can see it now. A strip mine for coal (subsidized of course!), All rolling stock in Armour Yellow with flags. Right hand running even on the former CNW, private car the "Warren G. Harding", A munitions plant, leaking plutonium into the creek, free brothel visits for all railroadmen away from home so they don't go gay.

Three restaurants on the layout, the steak house, burger joint and the steak&burger joint. Crew members will of course be issued plastic bags in lieu of toilets in the locomotives. Turning radius will be generous, all over 30", but only turning to the right. Maximum grade will be defined by Ben Bernanke. There will be a nice telephone line next to the tracks, with wiretaps every quarter mile.

No passenger trains, except for the Billionaire Cannonball and the Man O'War.

Cute!

You forgot the mint car full of all the gold FDR & Nixon stole from the American people in lieu of green toilet paper. And a cash car to pay for welfare and midnight basketball.

I am gay, what is wrong with that?
