Did Athearn use the same trucks on the SDP40 that they used on the SD40-2 and SD40T-2 models?
I only have the SD40-2 to look at, so I can't compare them myself. Thanks!

No - they both have different gearboxes and sideframes. Their SD40-2 rides on correct HT-C trucks with a slightly offset center axle, and the SDP40 rides on Flexicoil-C trucks, just like their real-life prototypes.

The trucks are also mounted differently in the frame
