Choosing N-scale couplers?

I'm building my first N-scale layout. I've bought some of the rolling stock, including a Kato RS-2. Now I have to decide what couplers to use, since they're not all the same kind on the stock I have so far. What factors should I consider for choosing the coupler type?

Thanks

For 99.9% of your equipment, all you need to know is "MicroTrains"...

The only real decision is truck or body mounted. ;)

Wellll ....... it depends.

If you're going to do a lot of switching and shunting, yes, MT is the way to go.

If you're more interested in running fixed rakes of trains, take a look at Tomix' TN coupler system - no slack, extremely strong, near-prototypical size ...

No contest. Body mount wins every time :-D

I recommend MICRO TRAINS, trucks, couplers or both. I have mostly MT cars. I also own a few Atlas cars that I replaced the trucks with MT bettendorf trucks( couplers are already included).

----------------------------------------------- I agree with Joe. I'd use body mounted couplers unless you the curves have a tight radius.
