. . . you can hear a whirring sound growing louder and louder. Know what it is?
It's the sound of Dean Freytag spinning in his grave.
Rename the subject or not, it is still just a bunch of clods arguing about an un winnable subject.
Well done, clods. The noise here is just so disrespectful. If you want to act like the jerks you are, start a new subject and leave poor Dean Freytag's name out of it.
Happy New Year to the rest of you. May this be your happiest and most prosperous New Year ever!
Certainly, Ray; your wish is our command. Why everyone knows that you're practically *legendary* on RMR for the respect you've constantly shown to other posters here.
(Insert sound of multiple irony and hypocrisy meters exploding into tiny shards...)
Tell you what, Ray (OK, Twibil, I'm talking to him behind your back here); I'll stop posting nasty comments to and about you if you post just ONE lousy message having to do with model railroading, as almost all of the rest of us do here. I'll give you a week to do it. No, make that two weeks, it being the holidays and all. Fair enough?
You have had me on your ignore list for so long you have missed them all, mate. Take a hike you adolescent, belly-bucking fool. No matter what you idiots think of me, it does not excuse your childish actions. Grow up. Come back when you are not using mommy's computer.
Wrong on at least two counts there, "mate". You're on no list of all of mine. Regarding having missed your on-topic posts, well, lessee: looking through recent messages in this group, here's what we find:

Total: 5 on-topic posts, 28 others (avg. = 0.018)
(I've left out threads which themselves were off-topic or entirely meta, like "Spam in this group?".) Most of your comments seem to consist of your rants against perceived "netcopping" or other supposed breaches of etiquette, even when the person you're chiding is discussing something related to *model railroading*.)
There it is, "mate", your entire oeuvre for this year. It must be quite depressing to see it starkly laid out that way, yes? A pretty piss-poor batting average there. But all is not lost, you can redeem yourself; all you need to do is start posting some on-topic stuff. What kind of couplers do you use? What about that locomotive color scheme? How about those trains you spotted the other day? Stuff like that.
I see, it's the world versus you.
You have heard that comment Franz Kafka made about that, haven't you?
And the little wee drummer, we flattered his bow And we made a football of his rowdy-dow-dow Threw it in the tide for to rock and to roll And bade it a tedious returning
I have no idea what that's supposed to mean (hey, you didn't say there would be a *quiz* on this!), but I defend to the death your right to post it here.
Interspersed in your own, how many on-topic remarks have you made here? You're an abusive bully, mate, and probably have nothing else to do here besides argue and divert a worthwhile thread.
You spent a lot of time trying to make what you did right. Sorry, bub, you remain wrong. Now stop acting like a child.
Ray, David and I have often disagreed with each other, and sometimes have done so impolitely and at length. But he stands as a towering intellect and a monomaniacal on-topic contributor when compared with you.
As evidenced by his posts, his primary interests here have always been (A) sharing knowledge and (B) learning new things himself.
Now if only we could say the same things of thee...
