Modells design/construction

Hello, I'm a student at the University of Economics in Vienna, Austria; Faculty "Entrepreneurship & Innovation" and together with my colleagues we conduct a Lead User project. In a lead user projrct we try to identify new innovative ideas for products within a certain search field. In our case it is the "Modularity of escalators" (or Plug & Play). We search for customer needs and new ideas in our as well as in analogue markets (such as models). As the product design/construction principles with models are similar to what we are looking for, I'd like to ask if you know someone who designed and built new models by himself, as I'd like to interview him.

Thanks for the help.

Your request is not very clearly expressed.

Do you mean you want to learn how to build a model of an escalator?

Ok, I see, you're looking for people who design kits (Bausaetze) and models for manufacture. That's who you should ask for.

As written, your request seemed to ask for scratchbuilders. (scratchbuild == build from scratch == build from materials and parts instead of from a kit.)

Rewrite your request, using the subject line "Model and kit designers sought". You might get some help.

BTW, most modellers I know like to build a rather complicated kit once in a while. The extra skills and time needed translate into more hobby pleasure per dollar. And a complicated kit often means that you have to learn new skills, which is also a pleasure. :-)

Good luck!
