one with a lick o' paint on a simple trolley and the other a relic. I was surprised to see that they didn't attract a single bid as I thought £200 was a not unreasonable price.

Any thoughts, gentlemen?

You need to change them regularly - and for the same reason.

IMHO Starting price too high. No possibility of a bargain to lure bidders in the first instance. Although there are many devotees of these engines they also have a reputation as boat anchors. A starting price set somewhere around where it might be expected to finish is unlikely to be successful. That and postal charges set to reclaim sellers fees and/or paypal charges are common reasons for a failure to sell. ttfn Roland

Aye, and not enough description. OK so the one on the trolly is a runner but what condition is the spare in? More or less complete, is it seized or do you just get the block and flywheel?

It's one of those 'unloved' series of engines that for some reason just don't seem to incite any wallet-opening spasms.

There is a spare engine as well, which might be significant if you wanted one but were unsure of repairs etc., but Crossleys don't seem to engender the same enthusiasm they used to, particularly in the cooking versions.
