Greetings. I am refurbishing an FR in my narrowboat having slimmed down from a barge. Repacing a piston and liner I have a problem with sourceing copper peelable head shims, none in stock at Sleeman and Hawen. Anybody out ther know of a source of oringinal or thin shim to cut with stanley knife? Do I replace big end bearing while engine is down? Manual only gives dia movment not thickness of shells. Anything else I sould look out for? Ta Vic Hyde

There's a guy on the canals up past Wolverhampton, Paul Aldridge 01902 892242.
