Hi Martyn, see
-- Dave Croft Warrington England
I've just been down in the attic and found a Petter manual, dated July 1950, that states: A1 Series III - 4 hp @ 1400 rpm & 5 hp @ 1650 rpm on petrol. On Vaporising Oil 4 hp @ 1650 rpm.

i forgot to ADD its a single clyinder engine and the plate is exactly as shown, clear as day to read, no misreads possible, check the photo
Also, The W type is not that rare, I have Two personally, and these are the tank cooled edition i suppose you could call these super rare.
Its possible from the condition of this engine it has another engines cowling on it.
ill try n get more photos, tonight, jus wondered if anyone else had noticed it in previous occurances
suppose my best bet is to contact david eddington and find out where there engine is or was heading, as in date of production and what it was produced for and who, thanks, Martyn
More photos to come of the W type engines, i need some photo space any ideas of good webhosts to save all my stuff on.
Cheers for now, Martyn
I thought A1 did mean SINGLE cylinder? This manual certainly designates it as so. BTW it does cover the Series II A1s that max out at 3 hp.
