OT but probably equally applicable to engines.Only very rarely have I attempted to flog stuff through magazine ads etc andI have recently been reminded why - it's a right royal pain in the a**e!I decided that the frame and forks which came from Kim as part of theCyclemaster deal deserved a more appreciative home, particularly as I havenow been given an old Raleigh roadster bicycle which will suit the C-M so Isubmitted an ad to 'Buzzing', the journal of the National Autocycle andCyclemotor Club.I describing the frame as honestly as I could (I included the phrase "wouldsuit enthusiastic welder"), so, why do I get calls from people who thenexpressing surprise that it is not a complete example in pristine conditionand ready to ride away? Then there are the ones who 'might be interested' ifyou could bring it up to the outer Hebrides so they could have a look, andthose that seem to be lonely souls who just want a natter.Now I am waiting for a call from someone who was supposed to be contactingme this morning to come and have a look at lunchtime. If that call doesn'tmaterialise, what do I tell the guy who is phoning this evening to see ifit's still available?No wonder my life is so cluttered with stuff which I really ought to find agood home for - I know I will end up selling my old radios to a dealer fornext-to-nothing just to avoid the aggro of the tyre kickers etc.

Frankly, I could never see the attraction, a good motorcycle made wider ;o))

Now, a Moggie with a 1,000cc OHV JAP engine on Castrol R with flyscreens that positively requires an Irvin jacket and Mk VIII goggles - well, move over Biggles, here I come!
