I have a friend who has a Petter(Lister) AD1 engine. He requires an electric starter motor for this and purchased TWO, only to discover the starter motor bendix (?) rotate in the wrong direction - flywheel rotates clockwise.
Can anyone suggest a solution or where he can purchase the correct stater motor?

AIUI the AD1 was only ever produced in clock rotation form so all AD1 starters should be suitable.
However, If (and I admit unlikely) your friend has been supplied the starter for an AC1R (R for reverse rotation) then it is plausable.
