I have a Petter PH1 on a dumper, rated at 6.8bhp @ 2000rpm.
I have just had it rebored +20, ground the valves in and fitted a new
injector nozzle (set at 800bar).
It has run about 5 hours since and is still a bit smoky, I pulled the
injector out this morn as the washer was leaking slightly and found
quite a lot of carbon built up on the nozzle (which I didn't touch).
With good compression and a new airfilter I can't see any other reason
for what must be an incomplete burn but injector.
So, is 800bar the correct pressure? should I try raising or lowering
the pressure?
Or is it that they are always smoky and as Jack Nicholson said "maybe
this is as good as it gets"
