Timing Chain help

Had this email in:

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Should you or your members have problems sorting timing chain out for old engines especially Merc and BMW I may be able to help. My father worked for Renold many years ago and we ran the UK side of a German chain manufacturer, who supplies Mercedes, Porsche and BMW as OE, for 30 years. Although I currently supply mostly race teams such as Cosworth, Mountune and Nicholson McClaren I would be happy to advise on chains as there are a lot of industrial chains being marketed as cam chain. I can help with most models. Best regards Andy Forsdick email: snipped-for-privacy@aol.com +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Gardner 4LK?

(I don't need one now, but did look into having some made a while ago as they are very thin on the ground. 7/16" pitch triplex chain)

Here's his second email:

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Just to let you know the sort of thing I can do, some of the old engines like Perkins used a special chain with press fit inner plates and although as far as I know these are like golddust, there is a chain made for Mercedes that has a similar feature but is stronger as it has bushes not rollers (allowing a much bigger pin dia), and although nobody incuding the manufacturers will adapt this chain because it is a pain to break and re-reivet, I can re-work it to any length. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
