Anyone know what power of alternator a villiers, Atco mower engine will spin, and where to find one, scooter, motorbike, old car ? I fancy building a little battery charger.

John's right, choose a small alternator from a scrapyard - something like a Mini or a Fiesta.
Better still, try and find a dynamo & control box as being more in keeping (& requiring fewer revs!) be prepared to fiddle about with pulley sizes
