Anyone have an idea of how much a set of castings will cost for this engine? the Reeves 2000 web site has very few prices and I would feel ripped off spending £7.00 on their catalogue and price list. Also saw this one on Ebay - no bids and about the same price as a set of castings from Woking Precision Models.

So well it appears to up for sale again already!

Different vendor, different location and the original buyer is not the vendor now.

Appears definitely to be the same unit.

I have to confess to being staggered at the price of these model IC engines. You could get a very nice full sized engine one for this money. I better understand the appeal of model steam, as the real thing costs a fortune and full size boilers are expensive ladies to keep.

I must admit some of the old ones, particularly Tom Senior and Stuart 800 types appeal, but not at the sort of price the Centaur went for (the first time).

As much as anything else, I think it is the workmanship and presentation of these two models that accounts for their price.

Additionally, the vendor has had the wit to put up a wide selection of first class photos - I like the small lathe driven from the Alyn Foundry engine.
