Aldo Antics on ebay

"Full Bachmann warranty"

No there isn't. Bachmann put a notice in their club magazine warning that any item obtained by auction is considered to be "second hand" and as such not covered by them. That followed the appearance of several limited editon releases on eBay displaying what appeared to be official company logos.

It beats me how Dapol can charge £7.50 for an Airfix model that used to cost

2/6d?

That isn't necessarily true. While an item bought from a retailer by an individual and then resold on eBay is second-hand by the time it reaches the auction purchaser, there's no reason why a retailer should not sell their stock by auction. I don't know if it's common in modelling circles, but I'm aware of several other retailers who use eBay and other auction sites to clear stock that they don't think will sell over the counter (or where they think they'll get a better price at auction). If the manufacturer was offering any kind of extended warranty on the product, then it would still apply - the manufacturer can't tell the retailer how a product may or may not be sold.

Combination of decimalisation, revaluation and socialism ... :-)

Can't have the plebs earning a real wage and being able to save a bit for he their old age can we? They'd stop voting labour.

I submit that on or about Sat, 30 Jul 2005 18:54:04 -0500, the person known to the court as "Alan Corner" made a statement ( in Your Honour's bundle) to the following effect:

He is gone again!

"Due to the information provided by you and other site members, and after further investigation, Porsche964 has been removed from

and all auctions closed with immediate effect."

Aldo used to have these kits on Ebay - I'm pretty sure that the Dapol kit is the only one available. Whilst the adverts did say something like "this is an unassembled body kit", the information is deliberately buried in a wordy ad with a photo of a completed model, and since some of those Ebay auctions have gone for over £30, some people have clearly been fooled.
