Bachmann Standard 4MT 4-6-0 75027

Aug 25, 2007 4 Replies

Just noticed on Bachmann's website today (25/08/2007) and sent them a quick email, that the new Standard 4MT 4-6-0 that they're proposing to release in the guise of 75027 is listed as having a double-chimney. However, I can't find a photograph of it with such, only with a single chimney (both in BR days and in preservation).

Can anyone confirm if 75027 ever had a double-chimeney?

As far as I know 75027 never had a double chimney . I vaguely seem to remeber Bachmann were going to release 75029 which did have a double chimney. wonder if itsatypo on their part

Further to above Certainly had a single chimney in 1962 when on S&D. Hardly think Western Region would go to the expense of fitting one after that..

I suspect Bachmann will renumber their double chimney model to 75029 or something, rather than release 75027 with a single chimney (at least not in the first batch). Pity, as I would really like to have it due to having been on the S&D in just the right period for me.

Aha! According to Bachmann's website for Branchline products

the item 31-115 (75027 in BR Green) now has a single chimney! I am now officially a happy bunny... :-)
