Are all Dapol wagon axles shorter than say Hornby ?
I got hold of a OO Dapol track cleaner to try and had to remove the axle to fit the decoder. Went to pop it back in place and it cracked :-(
Tried a spare Hornby axle and it fell through.
Some of his old Triang wagons have plastic axles but they appear to be made a lot stronger.
