Programming Decoders - CV's and bits

Have just installed lighting units from Express Models into a Lima 156. The instructions from EM say to disable directional control, then all lights (head day/head night/markers/tail) are all individually controlled.

Thing is I want to keep directional control.

Now I have markers and tail lights operating correctly (on both cars) on F(unction) 0. On the TRAILER car I've got F3 and F4 controlling the day/night headlights.

On the POWER car I've got F1 and F2 controlling the day/night headlights BUT the headlights on the TRAILER car also operate with these functions - which I do not want.

How can I disable F1 and F2 on the trailer car? I've looked through the manuals but cannot see how I can. Can anyone help me out here please?

As no-one has responded, I can only presume it's not possible. However, managed to get lights to do what I wanted. Appeared the decoder 'got stuck' somehow - a reset to factory values and reprogramming did the trick :-)

You do need to give us a clue as to which decoder you are using.

Is it obvious then Chris? To be honest, I don't think I've even heard of a decoder getting 'stuck', let alone knowing a particular sort (or make) is renowned for it.

Go on - have a guess.... :-)

I suspect Chris was asking to know what the decoder was because the behaviour of the various functions to control lights differs between models, hence the solution would be different in each case?

Ah right. In that case, it's a Lenz 1025. Weird really, as I've had no others freeze up. Mind you, have not tried messing about with lights in this way before either.
