Bachmann Class 66 - DCC lights

The Bachmann Class 66 has a switch on the underside to change between Day and Night running lights - has anyone investigated the wiring to see what needs to be done to have the lighting purely controlled via a decoder, both for direction and lighting mode?

I've done the mods to allow the tail-lights to be turned on/off with F1/F2 so that they are not direction dependent (i.e. the tailights can be turned off when the loco is hauling a train). The front headlights are still switched on/off via F0 and direction dependent. Day/night is still done manually via the switch on the underside. No programming changes are needed for a standard Lenz 4 function decoder. I would guess that to do day/night/tail-lights via a decoder will use at least 6 functions (or maybe

5 if being clever with a relay or similar...................)

Cheers, Mick p.s. If you want details on how to do the mod (cutting a couple of tracks and soldering two wires), email me directly, removing the obvious spamtrap.
