Hi all. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
I am an experienced welder (gas and electric) with fairly moderate brazing experience. I have, however, never brazed brass to brass which is what I need to do now.
I need to custom make some faucet stems that are made of brass, essentially
3/8" rod brazed in line. I don't know what the exact alloy is. Just good 'ol plumbing brass.I'm not sure what the best filler metal is. Strength is fairly important but I will probably join the pieces mechanically prior to brazing (threaded brass rod between the two pieces of rod). I don't want to risk melting the pieces as they are one of a kind.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
