Thinking about building replacement batteries for tools. Standard procedure is apparently to spot weld the battery tabs together.
Can a stick or mig welder be used for spot welding battery tabs?

Replacement cells* with tabs can be soldered together. Soldering is just as good as welding & easier. Welding is required for attaching the tabs to the cells, but not for attaching tabs to each other.
You can buy cells with or without tabs, so be sure to get the tabbed ones.
