FAQ website offline?

I am interested in joining an aluminum frame.

I figure welding is still the best way to join aluminum so I am looking for the FAQ for this newsgroup.

After searching, I didn't find any postings of the welding FAQ in this newsgroup. The last link I could find for it is:

and this website appears to be offline.

So if

formatting link
is no longer online, perhaps someone could please post the FAQ or post an alternative link to it.

This is a active newsgroup, so it would also be nice if the FAQ for it was available at

One question I fiqure is on the FAQ is: What is the ratio of amps (AC or DC) to Aluminum thickness? For example, how many amps do I need to weld 1/4" aluminum plate?

I am also interested in knowing if there are easier ways to bond Aluminum that are near as strong (in its various meanings) as MIG welding, something like PVC cement for Aluminum would be nice.

Thanks, and apologizies if

is not really offline...

The closest thing to a FAQ for now is a link list.

Yeah Mike Graham appears to have vanished from Usenet and the web. I don't know the details. I do miss him though.

The last time he posted here

10-1-03. Wasn't that about the same time that Miss J. announced her apologies here and on RCM? He has a profile here

and does not mention Welding as a hobby. He had some good stuff on the metalmangler site and was prompt and accurate posting here. The worst ribbing and slander I've seen on this group was directed at him and I suppose he's human too. Some threads went on longer than that "girlfriend" thread last month. I hope all is well and he comes back to join us. I know Mr. Ryker misses him.

I spent about a half an hour going over rec.crafts.meatalworking post and I saw some responses from Mike that where not all that old.

I certainly hope he comes back to the newsgroup he's to valuable to lose.

I doubt there is anyone over the age of 50 on this group or any or other group for that matter who wouldn't say " All but for the grace of (insert the name of what ever god you believe in) go I. The net wasn't around when I was young and foolish and boy am I ever glad it wasn't.
