Seattle shipyard 100+ welders auction

For anyone interested, Marcos Shipyards in Seattle is going on the auction block next Wednesday. Gunner can drool over the pics :)

They have a 28 page PDF catalog listing 1300+ items that relate directly to welding that you can download plus some pictures on the auctioneers web page.

Might be interesting to those in Washington. I didn't see the pdf - but the list and pictures...

Guess Korea or China was to much. Steel prices over the top as well.

You didn't miss much. I just got back from the auction- the welders went pretty high (for the sad condition they were in).

Kinda surprising; The only woman there made the biggest purchase. She plunked down over $22 grand for a MAMMOTH lathe. It must have had 40 foot centers! I'll see if I can get a couple photos of it for

when I go back to get my stuff.

It was worthwhile for me- I got a nice pair of 1 ton electric chain hoists for $350 each.

Not much else to get excited over.

I am not a big fan of buying at auctions, it almost always ends up this way (except sometimes at govliquidation.com). Too many hands inthe same pot.
