--Hi gang. I'm looking to get my hands on a spot welder. 220v single phase power available and hope to get something I can put on a pestal (I'll make one) and use to tack stuff together, probably no more than 1/16" thick but ya never know. Recommendations welcome.

Miller makes one and a pedestal to go with it. I bought the pair used and removed the pedestal, as I don't have floor space for it. After using the 120V spot welders as a kid, the 220V version kicks butt.

--Hah! My current thinking is to buy a cheapie and make a Miller-style pedestal for it!
I see them from time to time on Craigslist if you are not in a hurry.
