My neighbor just hailed me as I got home, and gave me a Lincoln 225 Tombstone his SIL had given him.
I have welded a bunch with DC, but am not sure what to use on AC. My welding book is packed up.
I know 7018 will run on AC.
What would be the best rods to buy for AC? Say, the top three?

6011 penetrates well, freezes fast and is more tolerant of contamination. Slag is harder to remove; use an angle grinder with a wire brush.

I use mostly 7014 and 7018AC. 7014 I've used in anything from 1/16 to
5/32, but I mostly use 3/32 and 1/8. 7018AC I've just used in 3/32. Most of what I've been welding has been A36 and mystery metal between 1/8 and 1/4" thick.I had a non-critical cast iron repair, and was amazed at how well Ni99 rod worked, welds nicely at a very low amperage...
