a more robust firewall matl for a parkflyer

my eindecker's doing the business, but the motor-mount/firewall interface collapsed after the umpteenth nose-over. it's thin plywood, and the the 3 spots where the motor mount were fixed didnt have alot of extra material (lots of cut-outs).

looking for suggestions for something a little more robust than the super-thin plywood. maybe some sort of CF or plastic structure would be appropriate?

Just a "shade tree" opinion but you might try some thin G10 fiberglass sheet. Very tough, durable, and fairly light for it's strength. This stuff is made of fiberglass cloth and epoxy and "molded" into a sheet. This is the same stuff most printed circuit boards are made of.

How about an old circuit board? Some of them can be pretty tough. mk

i'm going for slightly thicker plywood, also with less cutaway matl, and coated liberally with epoxy.
