I just want to thank everyone that responded to my questions about what first plane/trainer to purchase.
I have decided, with the help of my local club instructors to purchase a used hobbico avistar RTF kit complete with field box and accessories from one of the club members. Should have it in about one weeks time (just in time for my vacation time from work)

And not a bad choice I might add. The Avistar makes a good trainer and when your skills get better its a pretty nimble flyer.
