My favorite plane has a gas tank problem. The tank has a split around the neck.
I bought a new tank from Tower Hobbies, (# GPMQ4104). It's also the part number Great Planes has on their list.
The problem is it's nothing like the original. It won't fit in the slightest.
Does anyone have any ideas how I could get an original part?

I'd take the old tank to my LHS and see if they had something that would work. Barring that, a call to Tower may help solve the problem. If that doesn't work, there's always the Dremel.

The problem with many ARFs is that they are built in other countries using locally sourced parts. Even though the Stick had a Great Planes name on it, it was likely not built in the US and the parts are not regular Tower-stocked items.
Best ber, like someone else said, it to go to your local hobby shop and find a similar tank.
